I am an HR professional, a holistic wellness enthusiast, and a mother of 2. As a mother, I was always stunned by how effectively my mother knew about all the brilliant traditional recipes and Spices that worked. She had an alchemy lab in her mind with easy-to-find spices from our kitchen and secret remedies for every known ailment.I was already passionate about cooking, and I inherited my mother's love for organic remedies. During my second pregnancy, I realized how each spice in our kitchen has a medicinal property. My mother would tell me easy solutions for each symptom, like nausea or acid reflux during my first trimester. She had a keen interest in making magic out of spices, and it saved the day for a lot of us. She was the umbrella of comfort for all the hiccups I experienced during my second pregnancy. The real spirit of becoming a mother again hit rock bottom when I lost my mom. It was a traumatic phase, and I felt left alone in this journey. The stress drained out all enthusiasm, and I gained a lot of weight during the last few days of my pregnancy.
One day, I realized what would my mom do, had she seen me in this state of lethargy and hopelessness. The idea to experiment with spices, traditional remedies, and holistic care during pregnancy was born. It felt like my mother had handed me the key to her secret alchemy lab, and I had all the freedom to test my creations. After this random but much-needed realization, I never looked back, and here we are today. I was on a spree to test everything that I had learned from my mother. My first goal was to get back into a healthy habit and become the person my mother would feel happy. I picked up every piece of knowledge and started preparing for my delivery. I tried my best to bring my mother’s essence to each recipe or remedy that I tried. My faith in kitchen spices became stronger with every passing day. Finally, I delivered a very healthy baby. After skillfully crossing the postpartum phase, I looked back and felt grateful to my mother and proud of myself. Being an HR professional with 6+ years of experience, I knew I had a thing for reaching out to people and influencing them positively. At that point, I made the decision to use these spices along with my humble lifestyle to aid others. I came up with the concept for 100Spices.com after seeing how amazing and healing these seemingly ordinary spices in our kitchens are. My mom is not here to share the joy of this journey, but she must be feeling proud of the person I am today. All my experiments with spices have proven to be the backbone of what I am doing today. Currently, I am curating healthy spices and quick recipes for pregnancy and encouraging new moms to try out recipes using simple spices. It feels great to see the results of the amalgamation of my mother’s love and my passion together.
